To take total ownership of learners’ progress through their Functional Skills programmes; ensuring that learners receive effective and quality curriculum support, at the relevant level, to ensure they are on the right pathway, thorough initial and ongoing assessment and structured learning.

The post holder may also be required to enrol new learners on to the Functional Skills programmes with the company so as to maintain operational effectiveness.

Key Accountabilities:

Main Tasks

  • Carry out learner assessments within area of occupational competence.
  • Deliver Functional Skills to learners/clients.
  • Deliver training sessions as part of the Traineeship, Apprenticeship and AEB programmes.
  • Carry out regular learner reviews to maintain compliance and to ensure that learners complete their learning programme on or before the planned funding end date.
  • To carry out any administrative work associated with the Functional Skills programme(s) that the company delivers, such as completing learner documentation/APTEM programmes that is required as part of funding compliance.
  • Ensure that monthly targets are achieved.
  • Ensure a quality learner experience is provided and achieve a first-time pass rate of 80% or both overall and timely achievement.
  • Maintain regular contact with learners, employers, and main aim colleagues within your caseload.
  • Carry out initial and diagnostic assessments, including Maths, English and ICT (where applicable) and any social needs of learners and completion of associated paperwork/platforms.
  • To provide support to learners in centre on a one to one and group basis in both teaching and non-teaching (pastoral) capacities.
  • Identify new employers and or learners that would benefit from one of the Company's learning programmes and assist the Company in achieving its profile for new enrolments annually.
  • Escalate Employer and referral partner complaints to the Head of Quality (where applicable)
  • Learner complaints resolution (Head of Quality/Operations Manager (where applicable)
  • Staff complaints resolution (Head of Quality/Operations Manager (where applicable)
  • Provide reports and other information as and when requested by management in a timely manner.
  • To support the recruitment and development of new staff.
  • Support and embed Woodspeen Training's continuous quality improvement culture.
  • Keep up to date with instruction and training techniques and regulations that will affect the delivery of the Company’s portfolio of services.
  • To perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.

Administration:

  • Update and maintain relevant IT platforms and systems.
  • Monitor learners within your area of responsibility/caseload.
  • Liaise with parents (where applicable), colleagues and employers about learners within your area of responsibility/caseload.
  • Ensure that you are up to date with the relevant funding rules and curriculum updates.
  • Quality assure all administrative documentation in your area of responsibility to an auditable standard with specific focus on Woodspeen, Awarding Organisation and funding stream processes.
